Lessons are charged on an hourly basis or part thereof – multiple lessons can be booked with a 30min gap between lessons for student/tutor comfort.

From Oct 28th 2024:

Lessons are charged and booked on an hourly basis however student/tutor contact time is 50 minutes - the 10 minute gap between lessons is for student/tutor comfort, class preparation, homework setting and to allow for the transition between classes (just like at school!).

Multiple students attending the same lesson can be arranged at an additional cost per student (50% of primary student rate) however if the students are not at the same level then they may not qualify for this preferential rate.

To confirm any lesson, LESSON(S) REQUIRE PAYMENT AT LEAST 48HRS IN ADVANCE. If a lesson is not confirmed (through payment) within 48 hours of the lesson start time, it may be cancelled in my diary.

Any and all enquiries re: 2024 timetabling/lessons or billing, must be raised before 01/01/2025.

I charge per unit (a unit being 1 hour or part thereof) on a “pay as you go” basis and give the following discounts on advance block bookings paid in advance:

7.1% discount on blocks of 4 lessons.
14.3% discount on blocks of 10 lessons.
21.4% discount on blocks of 20 lessons.

Payments:

I will supply my bank details to genuine students.

Times:

On this website, all booking times are in GMT +0 except during British Summer Time when they are GMT +1. Please check that you are booking the correct lesson time for your time zone!

Cancellations and refunds:

Life happens and sometimes lessons have to be rearranged, but that does not make cancelled lessons any less frustrating! With this in mind, my cancellation policy has been written to ensure that students have a reasonable degree of flexibility, but that I am protected against last minute change-of-plans or “bail outs”! Refunds are at my discretion, and will be treated on a case by case basis.

Generally, students can rebook a lesson any time up to 48 hours before the lesson for free, but any lessons cancelled within 48 hours of the start time will be charged 100% of the total lesson fee. Any less time does not allow me, or my students, to re-arrange our affairs to incorporate your change of plans. My timetable is online and is therefore always available for consultation.

Any lessons that are cancelled on the day or after the start of the lesson or where the student never informs me that a lesson could not take place, will again be charged full price. If a lesson is booked and the student does not attend the lesson, I will wait for 15 minutes before cancelling the lesson.

Cancellation/re-booking of a lesson MORE than 48hrs prior to that scheduled lesson: 0% forfeit of lesson fee.
Cancellation/re-booking of a lesson LESS than 48hrs prior to that scheduled lesson: 100% forfeit of lesson fee.
Minimum lesson is 1hr (or part thereof) and multiple lessons should be booked weekly not fortnightly.
Block bookings: The statutory 14 day “cooling off” period is in effect from the day of purchase. Refunds within the statutory period are calculated pro-rata and may be subject to a cancellation fee.

NB: Prices are subject to change, at my discretion, prior to the lesson, in the event of any factor beyond the my control (including change in applicable laws, increases in taxes and duties, foreign exchange fluctuations, increases in supply costs, delay caused by the student and/or any change to the order requested by the student) and/or a genuine mistake by me.

NB: Refunds for cancellations/postponements are at my discretion. 3 or more consecutive postponements or cancellations will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
